Physical Description: You can't get more handsome than Bernie the Hound! He has a short coat--predominately white with large black spots, and brown eye spots.

Personality: Bernie has tons of personality! He's very smart and happy, and loves other dogs and people. When he's not romping with the dogs in his foster home or running and exploring our 8-acre fenced property, he enjoys lounging in a comfy dog bed. His great sense of smell can keep him busy for hours when he's outside in a natural setting. He enjoys being outside most of the time, and needs a VERY LARGE fenced yard to run in. Bernie bays when he gets excited. He loves attention--being petted and cuddled.

Bernie is NOT a hunting dog and is anxious when he hears gunshots, or a loud car or truck. Because of his strong personality, he needs a human who can be a leader as well as his companion. Like most hounds, it can be difficult to gain his attention when he's on a scent.

History: We found Bernie along the road. He was starving and only weighed 38 pounds. He now weighs 63 pounds!
