Physical Description: Super Jake is a large black lab mix with a beautiful black coat and a white spot on his chest.

Personality: Super Jake is a giant cuddlebug whose hobbies include napping, lots of pets, and playing tug-of-war with his furry foster brother. He definitely likes to hang out and relax, and is the perfect Netflix companion, but also loves walks and playing outside. Although he's big, due to his couch potato tendencies, he doesn't need a lot of room, other than what's left of the couch. He has the basics down: Sit and Lie down (his favorite), and is a great walker. He is the perfect buddy for a single person, a couple, or a family!

History: Super Jake was rescued in July 2016 by a family who found him on the road. He had likely been a stray for quite some time before being rescued. He was adopted by a wonderful family; however, their newborn was severely allergic, and so they made the tough decision to look for another family to adopt Jake.

Health Information: Super Jake is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. He is a big boy who needs to lose a few pounds, and so is pursuing a low-fat, healthy diet. Currently, he gets pretty itchy when he walks around in grass and is on a medication for this itchiness.

IAR Sponsored Training: IAR subsidizes post-adoption professional training with Jane Marshall (www.cheerydogs.com) to encourage a life-long and successful bond between the dog and the adopter. Group classes for puppies and adult dogs are provided at a substantial discount to IAR adopters.
