All About Me

May is a slender kitty with a sleek, black coat and wild green eyes. She is a tiny version of her ancestor, the panther! Due to a physical injury sustained in her rougher days, she has a right rear leg limp. But don't let that limp fool you-she still manages to race her foster up and down steps and find her way to the tops of bookshelves!

If you are looking for an interactive, talkative, funny kitty, May is your girl. She is very social - she greets her fosters with singing every morning and when they come home from their chores. May is also super curious. She loves cabinets, the shower, the refrigerator, and the basement. This curiosity is likely how she ended up in NC from PA! Other things May likes is watching her fosters cook (but really enjoys taste-testing!), and she loves to be up high which has earned her the nickname "Top-Shelf." <p>Because May had it rough on the streets before foster care, she did not learn how to be a lady in front of older, more reserved kitties. Therefore, it is unknown how she would interact with younger, more rambunctious kitties like herself. She is not suited for an older, more established kitty household. She does do fine with the resident dog and is tolerant of young, wild children.

History

May was brought to IAR by a community citizen after being found in the trunk of a car which had recently traveled from Philadelphia. She was emaciated, dehydrated, and injured. It is unknown how long she had been without food or water, but her body had used almost all of its resources. After emergency vet care, and lots of attention, May is now a healthy, sassy little girl with a HUGE personality!
